Kisimiri School
When the association was founded in 1996, there was only one elementary school in Kisimiri with two rudimentary huts as classrooms. Stones were used both as seats and benches. A piece of cardboard served as a blackboard. This primary school was the first to be extended by FoK. Four brick classrooms with corrugated iron roofs were built. A water pipe was laid over 1.5 km to the school. Further buildings followed. Then, out of nowhere, a secondary school was built and then a high school (grammar school), which is attended by students from all over the country. Kisimiri High School is now one of the ten best schools in the country. It has already twice come first in the national examinations. This is all the more significant as Kisimiri is the only state school among the best in the country. All the others are private schools.
